The 4 Types of Keywords
Search engines like Google try to understand why a user operates a search. This is called "Search Intent". To rank, your content format must match the intent.
Transactional (Do)
The user wants to buy straight away.
Ex: "buy nike shoes", "iphone price"
Informational (Know)
The user wants to learn something.
Ex: "how to tie a tie", "what is seo"
Commercial (Investigate)
Comparing options before buying.
Ex: "best running shoes", "mailchimp review"
Navigational (Go)
Trying to reach a specific site.
Ex: "facebook login", "gmail"
